22nd Day of Advent - Why December 25th?
Christmas is celebrated by young and old, Christian and non-Christian, whether they are jolly or not, on December 25th. Is that the exact day our Savior was born? Probably not. But does it matter? No. Setting aside December 25th to celebrate Jesus' birth and remember all the wonderful things in prophecy that pointed to it, and read and reread how the events unfolded, and attend pageants that act it out, and see Nativity sets popping up all over town to remind us of it, and spend 24 days of Advent to discuss each symbol of Christmas and why we have it -- is one of the best things in life! One of our favorite family traditions that was not started until Princess M was 2 years old is to bake a Birthday Cake for Jesus, and put candles on it, and sing Happy Birthday, and everything, just like a real birthday party. I can't wait til Christmas Day!
