17th Day of Advent - Wrapping Gifts

We had such big plans today, none of which were accomplished! It started snowing early this morning and hasn't even remotely slowed down. We're breaking all kinds of records in the Inland Northwest. There's 11 inches of new snow on my back patio, and it's expected to continue all night. So, I didn't make it out shopping today for fun gifts to wrap, or paper and bags to decorate.

Princess M and I enjoyed doing a few different crafts together today, and this evening we settled down to read from our ADVENTure book. We talked about pretty paper and bows and packages. And we talked about the greatest gift of all, which came wrapped in swaddling clothes. M whispered, "it was Jesus." She whispers when she wants to make a point - there's no middle ground with her, it's volume all the way up, or whispering.

Then we got out the gift she picked out for Daddy and she picked her favorite paper and she helped me wrap it. There is absolutely no chance of it coming un-taped, let me tell you! :-)

Now, if we can both just get over this congestion and cough, there'll be lots of playing in the snow tomorrow! There's also a couple scheduled to come look at our house, but I'm curious to see if anyone's really house shopping in this weather. A lot of roads are closed around town. The police are stopping people without chains and telling them to walk home in certain parts of Spokane. Lovely weather. But doesn't creation look beautiful when it's wrapped in white?

So, the wrapping is an important part of today, after all.
