Story Problems

We had a fun school day today, which is amazing since I'm still dealing with a sinus infection and Princess M is a bit stuffed up herself. M made the day more interesting by inviting and bringing along Molly (her American Girl Doll), Lee (her Build-a-Bear leopard), and Frappachino (the new plastic puppy from Dr. Molly's office). Apparently, Frappachino is only in Pre-School, so M explained everything very carefully to him. No shortage of imagination around here.

Princess M loves our Bible time with the Boz book. I don't tell her it's actually a Pre-School book, because she just adores Boz. We got a couple of Boz dvd's while we were in MOPS, and they're still some of M's favorites. Today's lesson was about forgiveness, and how much better we feel when we are forgiven if we do something naughty. Good timing for that lesson! Yesterday was a battle-and-a-half on the home front.

She loved our Language Arts time today, too, because she got to make up an ending for a story about Detective Dog. It was a very nice job, I must say. We breezed through Science and headed on to Math. We're really focusing on addition and subtraction facts while I'm in this interim period of not having actual curriculum. Today we worked on some story problems from a math workbook.

For example - There are 8 steps. Craig climbed 5 steps. How many more steps does Craig need to climb?

M's answer? "Who's Craig?"

Tomorrow, we're going back to drill. M's a little too literary for Story Problems.

haha
that's something M would ask.
"who's craig?"
now she should make up a whole backstory to explain why he's climbing the steps.
his dog ran off after the morning mail man and he has to go get the dog back. however, craig as athsma and needs to take a break after he's climbed up the steps. haaha. perfect.
