Adventures, Weeks 10 & 11

Our Bible theme for these two weeks was Jesus the Giver of Living Water. It was a more difficult concept to really explain to Princess M, but in her little mind, "it's like needing to have the Holy Spirit inside you so that you can make decisions all day long." Works for me!

We had cousins with us during week 10 and included them in making Hasty Pudding and Quill Pens and Berry Ink. They all enjoyed it very much. History took us from the birth of our great country to George Washington becoming the first President. We also made some Johnny Cakes so that we could eat George Washington's Breakfast.

The science lessons were all related to our water theme, and we watched salt water evaporate and make salty condensation,
we made colored sugar by evaporating colored sugar water,
we watched some beans soaking in water pop the top of their container by soaking up so much and expanding,
we tumbled over a tower of sugar cubes by watching them soak up colored water,
and we sprinkled sugar on a cucumber slice to watch it pull water out of the vegetable.
We had some really fun science days!!! :)

M is wondering why math is so easy again, and I had to explain that the beginning of any new book starts out with review. :) She's flying through Singapore 1B now, and is enjoying math more everyday, for which I am very grateful.
M is in Kindermusik and has already done a study of the Nutcracker, but is still interested in our music time, reading the Nutcracker story and listening to the music. And doing lots of dancing!

Hi Lainie! Everybody says that 1850-MOD has all this stuff in it, but I'm so glad that we get to do it now. I'm having as much fun as M!

Hey Cinderella - do you remember when math was easy, too? hee hee
